Description:
Growthland is pleased to present this 74-acre tract located in Decatur County, Iowa. This county has been a consistent producer of quality and quantity when it comes to whitetails in this great state. Decatur County is home to many of the top names in the hunting industry who have sought this area with the goal of producing record book deer. Now, you too can have the opportunity to purchase your own piece of this county in search of your own record book deer. This property is located within the city limits of Leon, making this an excellent property for archery hunting, and plenty of wildlife call this farm home. Most of this farm consisted of hay and row crop production until the 1990s. Since that time, it has been allowed to grow up into early successional habitat, which is often thought to be some of the best deer bedding areas. There are also multiple drainages that flow through the farm. The banks of these drainages consist of hardwood species, including a number of black walnuts. Multiple food plots are already established, but more acres could be cleared to expand current plots or build new ones. The south field could also make an excellent building site for the new owner.
