Description:
Daughter of Capt. Charles Stuart (builder of the famous Stuart Mansion) and her husband, John Weighton, built this magnificent structure in 1890 with 13 rooms, not including the finished attic with maids quarters and the full basement. The home was a mail order design by architect DS Hopkins, it was one of his most popular designs. In 1963 it was converted into apartments, but has since then been restored to its original charm. This charm includes two ornate coal burning fireplaces, 6 pocket doors in working order, parquet wood floors, stained glass windows, 9.5 ft ceilings, 8 ft doors, decorative brass hinges and all original woodwork with crown molding and other intricate pieces. This home is looking for a buyer who can appreciate its history by continuing to restore it! For more information, contact Audubon Real Estate!
